Apostle David T. Cockfield

Apostle David T. Cockfield is the Senior Pastor of Battalion Pentecostal Assembly Church, Arverne New York.

Pastor Cockfield is recognized as a distinguished leader among many disciplines. These include Executive Director of the Loving Care Center of Far Rockaway; President of Battalion Christian Academy Day School; President of Light House Inc.; Assistant Treasurer of Rockaway/Inwood Ministerial Coalition and Executive Board member of The Brooklyn Chapter of God’s Battalion Prayer Ministries.  Pastor “D”, as he is fondly known, is happily married to Sister Julia Cockfield, an Early Childhood Educator, for 30 years.  The Pastor and First Lady have been blessed with two biological children and one adopted daughter; Melissa McLean, David Andrew Cockfield and Odette Melville.

Warm, God fearing, easily approachable, affectionate with a Christ-like kindness.  These are just some of the adjectives used to describe the outward projection of Apostle David T. Cockfield.  Despite this soft appearance, Pastor Cockfield has established himself as strong leader within the community.  Among his many accomplishments is the recognition by the Council of the City of New York for his leadership, commitment, dedication and outstanding service to this city in building community and faith-based organizations.  He has done this by advocating and providing relief to the hungry through the Love and Care Center of Far Rockaway, and offering a lifeline to accident victims through the Lighthouse Inc. organization all the while continuing to touch the lives of many as a reverent servant of God.

A Native of Guyana, South America, Pastor Cockfield was born the fourth of six children to the late George and Doris Cockfield.  He grew up in a strong Christian family where dedication and hard work was encouraged.   Pastor Cockfield became an ordained minister of the Pentecostal Ministries and dedicated his life to assisting all those in need of help. His mantra, “I believe life is the greatest when we reach out to help others in need”.
